currently residing in France, where he was born in 1930, Pasquier-Desvignes has been described by The New York Times as “part tinkerer and part storyteller, a cross between Alexander Calder and Jean Tinguely.” he has lived and worked in multiple cities and countries, including Jamaica, South America, Nepal, and Australia. his United States home, located just outside of Hudson, New York, is a virtual gallery full of his innumerable artworks. this unusual and spectacular property, with artwork intact, is now for sale.
in 1998, Pasquier-Desvignes traveled to Chile to collaborate with Roberto Edwards on a book, Cuerpos Pintados. together they started IntegrArte, a program of social integration that recycles the discards of the world into art, inspiring creative discovery throughout entire communities. he remained in South America for 7 years, directing IntegrArte in Chile, Peru, and Argentina. the program has also had a welcome presence in Hudson, NY, and in Hyeres, France, where he now lives. for further information, visit his website (http://www.brunopdv.com) and enjoy this TEDxHudson talk about his work.
